Bella was adopted!

Well I guess I wasn't very good at keeping up with my blog on Bella, but the good news is that she was adopted and is loving life in PA. We hope to get another foster dog soon.

Dog Park Video

Video of Bella at the Dog Park on Saturday.

Weekend

Wow...so much has happened this weekend. We finally named this sweet pup, we toyed with Thai, Dulche, Indi and ultimately decided on Bella because she's just so beautiful. We're still working on house training but I think she's getting the idea that she should go when she's outside. We just need her to get the idea that going in the house is bad.

We took her to the dog park and she had sooo much fun. She loves running with the other dogs and playing. She's extremely well adjusted. She was also a great girl in the car, no anxiety, drooling, etc.

We've also been able to leave her alone with our other dog as we've established there is no agression. They can even eat right next to each other with no problems. Bella eats so quickly! I think she's still not confident there will always be another meal later. Poor girl.

We're very proud of her, and will continue to work on the potty training.

She's Here!

We picked up "Bristolia" about 11pm last night. She's so affectionate. She wants to be so close to you, and is just constantly pushing to be near you. She was a sweetheart on the ride home, no drooling, whining, nothing. We got home and introduced our current dog, Port and she instantly climbed onto Port's back to play. Port was a bit cautious and jealous but is OK with her. I'm sure they'll be playing together within a day or two. She has no idea what to do with toys. We gave her a monkey with a squeaker when we first got in the car and she barely sniffed it. She started to catch on when Port was playing with his ball so I'm sure it'll come in time.

She went for a nice walk - refused to pee and went immediately on the carpet when we got inside. Something we're going to need to work on. Then she got her "italian shower." We wiped her down with some wet washclothes, it didn't do much. She smells like a sewer and has some pretty bad dandruff. I can't wait to give her a bath! Then they each had a treat and we went to bed.

She peed outside this morning (after a small accident on the rug) and we made a big deal about what a good girl she was. I'm sure she'll catch on. Tonight we're going to my mother in law's house. She has a crate that we are going to get for her so that she doesn't pee in the house during the day until she is fully potty trained.

We need a good name for her. Bristolia is too long and awkward. Maybe Bri or Lea...or Dave came up with Thai. We noticed her nose is a bit dry and she has a little nose thing going on, nothing serious. Just sounds like a little piggy when she gets excited. I'm sure it'll clear up in the next couple days, but maybe we should name her after a famous pig or something.
I'll keep you updated. Please send me any paperwork or info on the foster program.
